Medicaid Buy-In
The Medicaid Buy-In (MBI) program is a key component of the federal effort to make it easier for people with disabilities to work without losing health benefits. Many MIG states have MBIs, and several of those have done research or evaluation work on their MBI programs.

Benefits Counseling
MIG researchers and MIG-RATS are examining the ways in which work incentives benefits counseling services are delivered and may impact consumers work-related behaviors.

Employer Research
Employer research looks at studies on disability in the workplace from the employer's perspective.

Medicare Part D
Medicare Part D is a federal program that subsidizes the cost of outpatient prescription drugs for Medicare beneficiaries. Several states have taken an interest in how the implementation of the Part D has affected their MBI programs.

Personal Assistive Services (PAS)
Personal assistive services (PAS) are those provided to a person with a disability or chronic condition that allow them to operate more independently. MIG eligibility is determined, in part, by the extensiveness of workplace PAS services available in a state.

Youth in Transition
Youth Transition projects explore the period of time in which a young person with disability or chronic disease leaves the school and home environment and transitions into a more independent setting, such as employment or higher education.

Outreach/Marketing
Outreach/marketing includes research on efforts to improve awareness and understanding of programs, such as the Medicaid Buy-In.

Demonstration to Maintain Independence and Employment (DMIE)
The Demonstration to Maintain Independence and Employment (DMIE) grants access to Medicaid wrap around coverage to people with potentially disabling conditions who are working. State and federal level evaluation of DMIE projects is ongoing.

Disability Research
Disability research includes research, reports, and studies with a focus on the employment, health care, and public program participation of adults with disabilities.
